FIT CLUB is a great way to connect with others – all with similar goals- in a private, no-judgements exercise session that lasts anywhere from 35-50 minutes a couple times a week!

In addition to watching the amount of calories you consume, it is also critical to examine how you burn calories.  In fact, to lose one pound of fat per week, you need to burn on average 500 more calories than you consume every day. Exercise is the only healthy and sustainable way to achieve this kind of calorie deficit.

There are two primary types of exercise that help you burn calories: resistance training and aerobic exercise; both are very important to achieving your fitness goals. Resistance training helps your body maintain and build lean muscle, which is a key part of boosting the amount of calories you burn throughout the day.

Over time…Resistance training will dramatically increase the amount of fat that your body burns passively throughout the day!

Aerobic exercise is also important, and is the best way to burn calories while you are in the gym. Because aerobic exercise raises your heart rate and keeps it at an elevated level throughout the workout, it not only burns more calories, but also improves your cardiovascular conditioningwhich reduces risks of a myriad of health problems.

Both forms of exercise are very important, but we have noticed that many members focus on one and ignore the other. To solve this problem, we encourage our members to join us for FIT CLUB, or alternatively, engage in cross-functional training – which effectively blends both strength and cardiovascular training in one workout!
